How To Pick The Right TV For You

27 04 2011

In order to get the best TV for you, you should know the differences between the main TV’s on the market today. There are three TV’s that we will be discussing on this post; Plasma, LCD, and LED.

1. Plasma:  Plasma’s give great detail to contrast ratio. The high contrast areas are the blacks and whites in the screen. If you have a great TV, will you will be able to see the differences between the darker and lighter shades remarkably well. Plasma definitely has the upper hand with color contrast and color definition. They have a great viewing angle. You can see the full screen from any angle, instead of only right in front of you. Over the years, the plasma has enjoyed a much lower price as compared to the LCD, but as the production size and demand for the LCD increases, the price of the LCD is set to become more and more competitive with the plasma.

3. LCD: LCD’s stand for liquid crystal display and have the greatest life span of the three. Most LCD displays have a non-reflective face.  Like plasma displays, you can put them almost anywhere. You can hide the connections for power and signal inside the wall, and they use very little space. However, the LCD has a response delay that causes fast motion to blur. Larger sizes are much more expensive than their plasma counterparts and they are not presently available in the largest sizes.

3. LED: LED’s are most popular for the video game user. These TV’s are the best with power consumption. LED’s back-light is more power efficient and needs lesser electricity to light up. Hence, the LED TV is the greenest of them all. However, the LED TV is one of the most expensive TVs around, with some models priced at almost double that of LCD’s of the same size. This is because the LED is a new technology and it is not produced at the same volume as the LCD.

Picking out the right TV takes some research. Whether you’ll be using it mostly for video games or movies, you will need to pick the one that will be most visually pleasing for you.

If your having troubles picking out the TV that you want, give us a call and we’d be glad to give you more tips and information!
